About Sullen,
We decided it would be best to finally let those interested know who we are, what we are about, and where we came from. Based out of Huntington Beach, California since 2001, sullen started like many other brands, with the simple goal to make clothes that appealed to those we share interesests with. None of us wanted the daily 9-5 and figured what better way than to do it on our own, little did we know how difficult this journey would have been. Starting in a small two bedroom apartment in Downtown Huntington Beach, our clothes were originally sold on our couch. Friends would come by on the way to the water or just to kick it, and they would usually always end up leaving with a shirt. After many years of struggle and many more to come, sullen has grown from a small guppy company into what it is today. Our goal now is to put out clothes that you can tell time and effort were put into, we're not trying to revolutionize our industry nor are we tired of what's out there, in fact many brands are throwing out amazing art which just makes our job more challenging. With Hand Drawn artwork by art director and popular West Coast tattoo artist, Ryan Smith, sullen's focus on quality and attention to detail has been reflected in its success. We pride ourself with a hands on approach to the action sports and music scene. With our dedication to the riders and bands, sullen has created a family within its own. Our reputable account base exceeds over 200 retail stores which range from core skate to boutiques. Ironically, we have defined ourself by consciously not defining ourself. When asked we simply respond "that we want to appeal to all and identify with none". We only hope you like the stuff we are doing as well. Thanks to our friends, the new ones we've made along the way, and our families who still support us even after countless tattoos and questionable life decisions we have made along the way.
